That's a bit of a shock.
It is clearly not a knee jerk reaction though.
The reasons they have outlined are all clearly valid and individually may be bearable but when combined together they obviously constitute an insurmountable obstacle.
The show has been particularly unlucky with the weather in recent years and this, combined with the shift towards open cars, has definitely slashed attendances.
As a long time attendee, both as a club member and as an exhibitor, I would like to thank the organisers for all their efforts in the past and wish them well in their future ventures.

It;'s sad but not really a surprise. I didn't go last year because it was a long way to go for a show that had been in decline for a few years. In 2012 the club got a poor turnout - three cars over the two days plus one or two members in other cars. Maybe the Donington Park show will be a good replacement. |
