The Scout was manufactured by the Automotive Engineering & Manufacturing Company in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. Unusually for a kit car it has a galvanised ("Zinctec") steel body. The vehicle was advertised with soft top or a glazed GRP hardtop, and could be purchased as a basic kit, fully built or as a "knock down unit" with all the major components ready for assembly.
