Status Minipower
| The Status Minipower is a uniquely styled 2-seater Mini based sports car. The engine and front subframe is fitted to the rear of a steel space frame chassis, with double wishbone front suspension. The non-stressed body is made from GRP. The windscreen is flat glass and there is no roof. Designed as a rear engine Mini based alternative to the Lotus 7 it was a basic wind-in-the-hair sports car. Very few kits were sold, and probably even fewer were built. The expense of having to source the windscreen, fabricate the front suspension, manufacture the steel chassis as well as the GRP shell did not make it a profitable product. |
