Nice compact 'charger installation by the looks of it! I assume the pipe leading around the back of the block (under the air filter) leads to the inlet side, via an intercooler/chargecooler.

Normally it would, but this engine is destined for an American who wanted all the looks and bragging rights of the engine, but didn't want to fit an intercooler... Weird to spend 12ish K and not have all the power they could - 'only' 160bhp!

I haven't yet been out to take nice shots of it - Im waiting to do it properly with a nice setting but haven't yet decided where. Hopefully this (older) picture gives you a nice view of the bonnet tho

From memory 8v cams are about 280 degrees, LT 16v (as fitted to most of the 16v heads) cams are circa 260 degrees, RS 16v the same as 8v at approx 280 degrees. The sound gets distinctly deeper as it the revs pass about 4K - exactly as I am about to change gear
