I didn't manage to make it to the first Carfest over August Bank Holiday last year, but I'm keen to go this time around. I see they're interested in car clubs applying for a place - would there be enough interest to get a MMOC space? I'm happy to apply on behalf of the club, not sure how ticketing works if you're an exhibitor but I've emailed to ask. |

Here's the message from the organisers:
|
Quoted Text |
|
Each car club will get 14 passes which allows for entry on each of the three days of CarFest. We are able to offer a camping pitch for the club-coordinator too. Other pitches can be bought for £50 each for up to three nights in the Big Crew Camping area.
Therefore the £450 fee includes a 3x3m gazebo and 14 passes for the seven cars on display. The passes can be exchanged, via the club coordinator, to those only coming for one or two days.
Additional tickets to the show for car club members (wanting to bring friends or family) will be available but prices yet have yet to be set so we'd be able to confirm those in a fortnight or so.
|
|
Anyone interested? To give you an idea of the value of this, a three day pass for an adult is £105 (without camping) so if we got a full stand it'd be 14 tickets for the equivalent price of 4 individuals. |

I think those details apply to either - the North one hasn't been announced in terms of venue or date yet though. |

Still no sign of the venues (or indeed dates) - the email I had said either the weekend of 3rd/4th August or 10th/11th - if it's the earlier one I can't make it, my brother's getting married! |

Carfest North has been announced as Oulton Park on the first weekend in August. If people are interested in that rather than the South option at Laverstoke Park over August bank holiday, then someone else will need to organise it (or I'll get disowned for missing my brother's wedding...)
So what are people's thoughts - north or south? And if there's enough interest, possibly put something in the next club magazine to get wider coverage? |

Martin - would you be interested in a place on the MMOC stand this year then? |

I would have liked to have gone but I want to do a few sprints this year so don't think the funds will allow, it cost me about $250 last year which is probably 3 sprints!! If you can get a stand and enough interest you will have a great weekend, I know marcos international are trying to get a stand so perhaps hook up with them ?all the best with it |

The hope would be (looking at the costs) the more people we can get the less it would cost everyone. If we got even five cars and a couple of passengers, then it's only £65 each.
I'll put something together and send in for the club magazine, to try and attract a bit of interest. |

That's the thing Martin, it's £450 divided by the number of tickets we use. If all seven cars came and brought a passenger, it would be £32 each! Obviously you've got accommodation costs on top of that though. |

You can count me in assuming we get enough to make it a runner. |

Just to resurrect this thread, despite the advert in the MMOC magazine I've yet to have anyone email me. As said above, there's no guarantee that we get a stand - but we have to get a minimum of four people bringing cars to make it worth trying. |
