Hi all,

this is my first post on the forum although I've been a club member for a while and have been lurking about the forum too!!

Most of you will have seen the red Jem that came up for sale in this months mag - well I was the bloke with the fastest dialling fingers and the car is now living with me!! Happy Chrimbo Richard!!

I think the car has been about a bit and my plan is to restore and use it!! If anyone knows the car or anything about it's history I'd be very interested to hear from you?

Can anyone also tell me or send me a picture of how the window catches work, there's none fitted at the moment.

I'll keep you updated with progress

Cheers

Rich

Hi Richard and congratulations on the new purchase. Do you intend to keep the road hog front end ?

Hi Neil,

no the 'snow plough' is coming off!! I'll have to perform the surgery carefully to preserve the arches. The spoiler has been bonded on very well though - someone has put a lot of work into fitting it.

You'll see how the window catches work on my Jem. They're just quarter-turn panel locks that secure the drop light in the up position. The drawback to this arrangement is that you have to decide at the beginning of the journey whether you are going to have the window fully open or fully closed - there's no in-between.

Cheers for the comments guys.

Been playing today - new battery - new fuel - it runs!! Won't tick over without the choke though!! Water pump is leaking too. Not bad though considering it's not been run for years!

She'll be even more impressed when you bring it in through the patio doors! Just promise her a new kitchen...
