South Australian plate...seems to be quite a few Jems down here - maybe Syd knows this car/owner?. Nice paint job and wheels.

.....definately an A series though (cardboard oil leak catcher is no doubt familiar to many owners!)

Jems were made in Adelaide, in a surf board factory!. The owner should be known to Paul Mitchell but Stephen didn't say who it was on his flickr page.

That's one just built by Phil Huxtable in South Australia. Very nicely done customised to his liking. Looks like Richards already updated the Jem Gallery. Nice interior as well

Phil won two award at the 2012 Mini Meet in Adelaide. - he's done a really good job eh?
I've prepared a report for the MMOC mag with more photos.

Thanks for the update mates! Yes I don't take long to update the gallery when a new car crops up on the web. If Google doesn't find it Neil will. This one was an obvious choice for COTM. That's an unusual location for the handbrake, but it avoids clashing with the gear lever.

This Jem and Paul Mitchells' will be written up in an article in the MMOC mag. We have had been to some displays and both cars create a lot of interest. Briefly my car has an S engine, weber and some engine work. It has a full roll cage, 7X13" wheels, adjustable suspension and 4 wheel discs; 8.4 vented at front and 8.4 solid rears. The painting took 2 months just in preperation but only 2 hrs to paint. All Australian Jems are MK1 and made in South Australia.

im the same looks like alot of thought and work has gone into the interior but the dash just seemed to be let down... i would have thought trimmed same as the doors at least.

is still absolutly gorgeous though! What alloys are they?

Hi, Maybe the dash is a bit plain---made it to be a bit retro---possibly a bit too much but it serves the purpose. Next one might be better. Wheels are Supertrax---from UK.

Hello Southern hemisphere peeps,

I like it all, a good mix of modern wheels, great paint and beutifully crafted interior. Plus I agree about the hand brake location.
