So it goes a little like this: Me: wow there's a jem on eBay needs a lot of work though. Wife: ok let me see..... What's that on the roof? Well aleast you can fix that. How much is it? Me: it's 99p start or buy it now but I can't afford it. Wife: buy it! Me: I can't. Wife: you regretted selling your jem. Buy it or I will hit the button for you!
So hopefully I'll be picking up a jem in the not to distant future. I'll post some pics when I get it home. Mike |

Have a look in the gallery it's listed in there. It has some boxes on the roof two I assume to get crash helmets on (it was a race car) the third looks to be some sort of vent over the back window. Mike |

Due to other commitments (i'm building a foers ibex at the moment) there is no danger of me getting any where near it for a while. It will be a road car I'll leave the racing to my brother and the wife is now claiming the Marcos as her's so yes I'm going to be busy for many years. Mike |

Ah, the bane of car people everywhere -- space in the garage. My dream house will have a 20 car garage. But until I win the lottery, I'm stuck with space for 1 if I'm diligent about keeping clutter clear .

It's looking like it's going to have to live on top of one of my work benches for now especially as the Marcos is already under said work bench. All this in a 6m x 5m prefab garage oh and I'm building a long wheelbase foers ibex in there to I really must get that finished. Mike |

Mike curiosity got the better of me , I had to google Foers Ibex , now I know what it is ,according to Wikipedia you could use it like a cable car if you had the central winch , never seen one though. Regards

I love that, Now that's how all garages should be , welding tongs hung on the end of the bench and a little helper as well, Great , But don't let them cars collect to much dust.

Hello Mike Have just read your thread. I remember seeing this car rallying at pembrey in about 1987ish I had my first jem then but it wasn't on the road, anyway , if my memory serves me right the man who built it was called Chris griffiths ? He lived fairly local to pembrey. Think he still rallies possibly suburu type car . I remember he had built a square tube inner structure almost everywhere inside the cab. This was used to mount seats etc. Must have weighed a ton! I still have some images taken at the time . I will upload them for you . Regards Ian Davies |
