Does anybody know what current the heated screens draw? Do I need a relay? I intend to switch it with a standard Mini toggle switch (single pole/single throw). regards Ron |

I don't know what they draw but it will definitely need a relay and I would recommend one that cuts out after 10mins or the voltage drops below about 12v. Otherwise you'll melt the switch or flatten the battery. Mike |

Thanks Mike that is a great point. That has got me thinking that I should also incorporate a warning light. The timer relays that I have found, so far, can only switch 10 amps so I really should find out the potential current draw also. regards Ron |

You can get one-shot timer modules on ebay, but I haven't found any data sheets for them. They have relays on the board so the contacts are voltage free. You don't need extra relays. |
