Tony,

Brass plate indicates that is is made by marcos mut manufacture is likely to be 1966 or later (very few cars were made in 1965).  The number on the brass plate will confirm better the year of manufacture.  The morris minor round front indicators indicate that it is probably a Mk3 or possibly even a Mk4 and will date from 1967 or later but assembled from the engine etc from the 1964 car.

The fact that it is still get coat may indicate that it is a later car, send in the photos of let us have the number.  If it is 7XXX it is a mk 3 and 1968 on if it is 8*** it is a mk4 from 1974 on.  Vynal roof, don't see may of them except on mk4's

Regards

Pete

Your car is a mk4. It has a large B pillar behind the door. Not sure about the chassis plate.

The chassis plate definitely isn't a Marcos one. The car looks like it's an early Mk.IV because of the polished window frames. D&H used cheap aluminium channel (back-to-back for the quarter lights) and painted it matt black. They also stuck bits of aluminium over the tops of the door mouldings on the outside.

Tony,

It is certainly a Mk4 so the very earliest it can be in 1974.

The marcos chassis plate should be in the engine bay and should be a rectangular brass plate if it is made by Marcos or an Aluminium one if a later car made by D&H.

What does the log book say it is? is it still a mini or does it actually say marcos.

As Richard states above it is definatly a Mk 4 but more than likely one made by Marcos.  There are no other chassis numbers apart from this Marcos brass plate on the shells and as they are held on with rivits it may have been taken off.

The brass plate you have has been made up by someone so the chassis number matches the log book I suspect.  Not very legal.

i must say the vinyl roof looks bit different i like it though

if the car has been made from a mini does that depreciated it as a marcos??

does its value drop what impact does that have??

the one that says mini marcos on it is the correct one for the car, the other log book is just a mini log book, and if you use that numper plate /ID, then you could risk serious consequences if you are pulled by the police.
