Hello, I've done that several times with imported motorbikes I have ridden to the MOT station without a rear plate but I usually trailer them there. The MOT has the chassis number on it. After I'd sent all the documents to my local DVLA office (I had to include my decree absolute, utility bill and a DNA sample ( ) a man came to inspect the vehicle. Once he gave the all clear, I got a new tax disc plus my insurance and MOT back. The MOT certificate was a certified copy with the new registration number on it. I also got a document, valid for six weeks, which allowed me to get number plates made. The log book turned up a few weeks later. The insurance certificate also just showed the chassis number, no problems with that either. I left it like that till renewal, then I changed it to the new registration number. I'm going through this process all again with another bike, this time I've got to take the bike to them otherwise it's a 6 month wait for an inspection. The inspectors have always been friendly and interested in the vehicle. Hope this helps |

Yes - I've had to do this in the past
The MoT and Insurance are simply changed to show the Reg number, once it all goes through
