I'll go along with Mk.V based on the dashboard, side stripes and the fact that it's used (although the Mk.VI has been around for five years now - hard to believe).

Is 92y indicating 1992 perhaps?
And aren't they the aircon vents from Japanese minis - all mod cons!
And I like the look of the roll cage, sufficently fitted to be out of the way (of the door openings).

Ben,
The reason the Japanese have all of your best cars is because you poms are happy to take their money! No use whinging after they have gone, open your wallet and I am sure one of your countrymen will be happy to accept your dusty pound notes.

It hasn't been happening so much since the Japanese economy went south, but the real reason is that Brits aren't prepared to pay enough for them. If you put a car on ebay you take the winning bid. A lot of cars that were exported to Japan were bought by dealers and intermediaries so it wasn't necessarily obvious that they were going to Japan.

In the case of Mk.Vs I think ten were sold to Japan by the factory in fully built form, and at least three Mk.VI kits were sold to a Japanese outfit by Marcos Heritage.
