Happy New Year! And to welcome my new year in, my MK3 presented me with some very rusty cross member ends when I took the shock mounts off, thanks! So what would be the best approach here, renew part or all of the crossmember? After looking on mini websites, the crossmembers don't seem to have an end plate with four bolt holes needed for the shock mount, is this correct? |

Hi David,
Take a look at this thread, and have a chat with Dennis:
http://www.minimarcos.org.uk/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?b=MM,v=display,m=1315211445,s=90
I have done it on a Mk IV, but it is subtely different in that it only has the end plate "inserts", I did a write up which was published in the Club magazine a couple of years back, here is a photo of the new ones:

When I made the new ones, I took the opportunity to convert from the twin bolt style subframe to the single bolt.
