Probably on top of the geatbox
Looking good Rodger - are you aiming for a particular completion date?

Rodger, it looks like you need to make yourself one of these ....

...so that you can build up one of these and position it more easily

All these people making fantastic progress on their cars - looking good Rodger.
Can you explain the headlight cover surround filler?  What did you use and why?
And I love the look of the subframe/engine lift too, Steve.
Do you have designs/dimensions?  It could be the excuse I need to buy a welder!  (And another project I don't have time for  )

When my marcos grows up it wants to be a 250 or 275 ferrari graham.
The surrounds were made by creating a buck for each side (as there is a 5mm difference of course) then a pattern was drawn and laser cut in brass. The brass was rolled to fit a narrow channel cut in the body. The original lens fit in and the idea is that the seal will look better than electrical tape and hopefully about the same barrier to dust and water.
I have cut two sets. One will be chromed and the other black chromed.
The last seven years has involved dreaming about and gradually implementing a whole list of period details.

It was difficult to decide what to include and what to exclude. As an automotive instrument maker i wanted everything.

For anyone who is interested. I've uploaded some annotated photographs with measurements of the subframe jig to my Marcos Build website: http://mm7056.wordpress.com just click on the 'Subframe Jig' tab.

... and Rodger, I'd love to see some photos of your dash as well

Sorry it took a while for me to get back on a desktop computer to change the file names so the site would accept my photo's
Obviously I have to fit the instruments and terminate the harness but the bones of it is now done.
There will be a twinmaster, pair of heuer clocks, speedpilot, fuel gauge in the middle, speedwell weston tacho, speedwell mechanical water temp, oil pressure and oil temp.
Warning lights I have made in two 52mm 'gauges' cut into 4 segments. The chronometric speedometer will be down below.
Yesterday we cut the holes for the external lights so these will be gel coated this week and the car will be cut and any touch ups done. Then its time for assembly.

The front corners are almost complete. The brass rims have come up a treat.
Unfortunately we found that the club made perspex lens was 5mm short and also came pre-drilled Never mind.
So we have used them as a template for a fibreglass buck that is slightly longer.
We are now preparing to experiment with my industrial oven at work so I don't upset my wife.
