I have copies of the May 1979 and June 1979 issues of Car Mechanics magazine which featured a two part build of a D & H Fibreglass Mini Marcos Mk IV.
The article is not particularly informative technically (not like the ones I write ) but if anyone is interested from a historical point of view I will be happy to post them to you.

John, I'll take them if they're still going? Alternatively, could they be scanned and posted for all? Does the club hold an archive for articles? Let me know and I'll cover any postage requirements. Cheers, Graham |

If John can't scan them, I can do them and put them on here. I'd be interested in a copy anyway. |

The quality of the photographs (all black and white) in these old mags are so poor that I don't think they'll scan successfully.
Graham. I'll post these to you if you pm your address to me. You can then have a closer look to see if you think they will scan.

Yes we do have an archive of magazine articles which I hold. It's now a very thick ring binder. Most of what I have is on the Press Cuttings section of the web site. I have the Car Mechanics articles listed but I haven't got any scans. I would like to have copies or scans of the articles for the web site if possible.

John - you'd be surprised how well the results can be with decent quality scanners. Willing to give it a go if you send them to me, I can send them on to Graham afterwards (or Graham can send them to me and I'll send them back). |

Address sent, thanks John. Graham - can you send me your address so I can re-send them once I've scanned it all? |

Simon - PM sent.
Thanks John.
Richard - I've got a few magazines with relevant articles in. You've probably got them already, but as I come across them I'll see if I can scan them and send them to you. |

Hi Simon, John, Got the mags through the post today - Thanks. Did they scan okay? Haven't had a chance to read them properly but loved flicking through them - an article on a Marina 1800TC (my Dad had one of those!). 110bhp from 1.8 litres returning 27mpg! Where did the rest of the petrol go? It wasn't producing power!!! |

Glad they arrived OK Graham. I found some of the adverts in the back amusing as well, if I hadn't got to post them on to you I'd still be reading them!
Scans came out quite well, Richard has put them up here:
http://www.minimarcos.org.uk/cuttings/carmech/index.html
As this seems to have worked well, if anyone else has any copies of articles they would like scanning for the site please let me know and I'll sort it out. |

Building a Marcos seems to be so simple when you read that article - I can't understand why it took me 2 years to accomplish what the magazine staffers did in a couple of months |
