On driving home yesterday, my speedo went over to 86,260 - which was double what the clock had on it when it went back on the road in February 2011. Not sure how many of those miles were on the original Mini and how many when made into a MM though.
It would be interesting to know what others have clocked in their times owning a MM/MJ/KS... |
D&H Mk IV 8313, KGV 215V (aka George) - 75,000 miles and counting since restoration in 2011. |

Hmm, let me think.... How many miles in the last 5 years?
Well done on the mileage. All reliable miles? |

Reliable miles - what are they? The mileage quoted above ignores those collected on the back of a tow truck (at least five times off the top of my head - ranging from minor issues to the clutch disintegrating) and heaven knows how many miles missed through breakdowns. All in all, not many major issues given it's 35 years since it was built (and seems to have been a Mk 2 so some parts over 50 years old!) and it's spent 20 of those years in a pig shed... |

I'm pretty sure I did over 50k (in 5 years) in my jem before I sold it mind that was about 15 years ago and it was far from trouble free. I've probably done over 100k in various Jem's / mini Marcos over the years but I did have them as daily driver's for the best part of 10 years. My current cars have done a combined mileage of 500 miles all on a trailer in the 5 years and 6 months respectively I've had them. Well done with yours and hears to many more. Mike |

Almost music to my ears (i.e. It's not just me and my car!)

Great that you use it so often. I clocked up around 6k miles in 2 years with my red and yellow combined. Yellow is around 400 miles sinds restoration which was completed spring last year. |
