Hi All - Sorry to have not posted updates recently but things got sidelined a little due to circumstances beyond our control. We've been let down by a couple of people who promised some parts but they failed to materialise, to least an engine! We've overcome that one now but it has meant we had to downsize our aspirations about competitively running the car at the Classic, A great shame as we had two French GT drivers who were eager to drive the car. Bit - the aim is still to get her out there for the classic and it should run around he circuit on the Friday at the very least.
After a bit more information if any one knows - this is about the stickers on the front wings. Obviously the Dunlop ones are easy to identify, bit there are two others. Both feature a chequered back ground but as to what they are I'm no sure and larger versions appear on the rear under the window but again they are not clear in all photos we have. Appreciate any feedback on these.

I would guess this one for the one just above and to the left of the Dunlop sticker (front wing) but can't find a likeness for the second one on the wing just behind the headlamp cover

The Dunlop Sticker - the image I have is again indistinct and Dunlop logos found seem to be either Red D & black Arrow or Arrow and D both Black? Roger |

It looks like the "D" is missing from the Dunlop logo also, perhaps ELF and Michelin had sole rights or something ? |

You could be right I hadn't noticed I think I was automatically seeing the D in there. Its the shame the sticker near the headlight isn't clear enough to see though

Been trying to fathom out what the sticker is on the front wing and think it might be a BMC special tuning dept 'rosette' on the chequered flag. Haven't found a picture of one online but in the pics I have it sort of fits the shape. I know they we're not supposed to be promoting the fact they had a 'special engine' but thats the closest I have found to it. |

I was looking at some old b/w photos with the 1966 car on a trailer. The car used concave cibie SUPER -OSCAR spotlights. It very obvious when looking at the protection tape! Properly no road legal as is but i am sure Cibie also made 7" with high beam and near as concave. Concave front lights was a Cibie trademark in the sixties. Joergen |

Hi Henrik and Joergen Thanks for the picture, but are you sure that's the same car? If so, I don't know when the photo could have been taken, but not on the weekend of the race as too many things are different from how the car looked when it raced in June 1966 Roger Club Secretary |

Hi Roger I found the photo on the net of course. Actually, there are 3 photos and they shroud be from Le Mans test day in spring 1966. I have consulted an expert, Palle who have restored two Renault 8 Gordinis using those lights. He thinks the Cibie´s are slightly larger than standard 7" lights. |
