Will be good when done. Funnily enough - well it is for me - the person who built my Mk 3, cut the front off the car with the plan to make the front look more like a Jem.
If I can dig a picture out will try and post it here.

Good luck with this Matt. The front wheel arches look very cool! I think I can see a classic Mini under the cover. Is this for parts or is it running? And a white Mini Marcos in the foreground.. what is the story with this? Or are these pictures from the prior owner?

Photos are from the previous owner - the wrigglesworths.
The front end has some "wonk" to it and the inner wings panels need some investigation. Have already contacted the club grp-meister about getting a new jem nosecone.
Plan is to to get the car back on it wheels. I have most stuff to go on it including period 6x10 minilite, vented brakes, hill climb rear beam, coilovers. Will fab a rear cage to pick up the rear suspension. Engine will be a 998 turbo.

Matt - after the powder coating do you have to re-tap any threaded holes? If so, does this cause the powder coating to chip off? |

A few shots from the last months. Rear suspension just being test fitted so the inner arches can be turreted (the top mount hole is incorrectly located and the rear hoop/spaceframe can be tacked in place.

Any reason you removed the lower lip on the rear panel ? |

It's coming along nicely. Is that a Speedex beam and trailing arms? |

i think the beam is a"huddersfield spares" style beam - nothing fancy. The radius arms came in a job lot of parts destined for a hillclimb mini. I've had them for about 13yrs, were off my last mini.

It ruined the nice lines of the rear end. In my eyes, it was a typical 1970's 'blocky' styling design/addition done to curvy/ delicate vehicle shapes from the 1960's. Think rubber bumpers on mg midgets and MGB's etc etc.

Chop! Unbelievable amount of filler in the nose/mouth. So heavy I believe it would effect handling

Crappy bulkhead airbox be gone! Took the decision to get rid as it was just another bit of dodgy fibreglassing. Will replace with a smooth bulkhead.

Random bit of flat-ish grp glued and screwed in. This will be glassed in from the back then given a couple of layers of tissue to smooth out the top layer. Then a skim/sand for blending in.
