Can anyone advise what a MM full roll cage looks like? Attachment points etc. Better still send a scan of a plan or a pic of one. |

Will try to post some photos of mine later this week, they generally mount on the floor just infront of the front of the rear subframe mounts, on top of the rear shockabsorber mounts and on the floor by the front of the doors.
Mine also mounts by the front subrame mounts.

Thanks for info Pete Great if you can post some pics of your setup. The one that I have seen somehow bolted into that box section that goes behind the door to the rear shelf at the rear subframe front mounting points. Can't remember how it was done. Cheers Tertius |

Brilliant! Thanks Pete. Looks like you have one going diagonally across the rear deck or is it just a cross brace for the roll bar that goes over your head? Also the one that goes across the floor behind your seat. Does it just go straight through the centre tunnel...or over it? Apprec your advice Regards Tertius |

Tertius
There is a diagonal cross brace that goes from the passenger side rear shocker mount to just over my head. There is one between the rear shocker mounts. There is a bar across the floor at the rear, this goes over the top of the tunnel. There is also anothe bar across the floor at the front, just infront of the gear stick.
It's actually not an easy thing to take a photo of!

Pete Thanks for the info. Methinks your car will withstand a direct hit from a Crusader tank! Cheers T |

Pete Just a p.s. With all that protection around, what stops your seat from going through the floor in a ding situation? Is it attached to the roll cage at any point? T |

Tertius.
My car is a Mk 4 so fibre glass in the floor is 6 to 10mm thick!
I fabricated the seal mounts with 1" angle, this is bolted to the floor with strips of 3mm thick steel the other side of the floor 1" wide. If this pulls through the floor there won't be much car left!
The cage is pretty substantial cos I helped Dean Robertson rebuild his car after he hit a tree head on at 60mph on a hill climb.
If the car is going to do more cuircit racing will be probably add more side impact protection with additional door bars at a higher level.

Hi Neil Thanks for this. This one is very similar to one I have subsequently seen on a MM down here in Johannesburg. |
