For info, anyone looking to replace their battery in Mk3 (or earlier?) Mini Marcos, the 075 size battery fits into the standard battery box, just.

The 075 is a good upgrade, gives a useful increase in Amp-hr capacity and also cranking current is higher which is useful on cold mornings.

I've been using a Bosch S5 Silver 075 in the MM for a couple of years now, after the last one gave out. No problems and as mentioned a lot more current - which is good when the winter chill is about...came with a 5 year guarantee as well.

D&H Mk IV 8313, KGV 215V (aka George) - 75,000 miles and counting since restoration in 2011.

I have one of these tucked behind the dashboard :

1.5kg, and it starts my high compression (with gear reduction starter) motor no problem.

For one of my road worthiness tests, I had to run the headlights (low beam) and running lights for 45 mins witness car running. Not part of the requirements, but we had to start the car 10+ times after that for other tests, and had no problems.

I've found the Cooper S battery, 057, is fine, but I wouldn't use the standard Mini battrery on a 1275.
