I am now the new owner of DH8102!
I will be doing some tidying up of it and enjoying as a road car only. Most of the tidying will be freshening the interior as the mechanical stuff is supposed to be reasonably sorted - just deal with maintenance type stuff as it arises. I will start other threads for specific topics I may have on the freshening of the interior.
Here are some pictures of it being delivered today (23 March 2019).

The exterior is is very good shape. It does have some scratches and faint cracks in the gel-coat/surface, but overall nice as-is.
It is the interior that needs freshening. The headliner is coming loose in some places and is ragged around the edges. It has ill-fitting large rubber mats instead of carpet on the main floors. The seats need some attention. And some of the trim panels need attention.
No pictures of the interior yet. I get to those as I start the tidying. First comes solving an issue with the headlights - high beams not working - so I can get the Texas inspection done for getting the title/registration transferred to my name.

I figured a brief update was warranted.
I have been working on the interior. - I changed out the column switches to a new set appropriate for a LHD car. - I took out the rubber mats and seats: The seat bottoms had broken support straps on both seats. - I ordered new seats in a classic style, but not the racing bucket style of the old seats. - I also began redoing the rest of the interior. I have carpeting installed in the main floor area. I am starting to work on the rear hatch area for new carpeting as well. I am also trying to work out the details for trimming the sides and headliner.
For doing the side trim and the headliner, I think I am going to have to remove the windows to get good edges around them. As such, I think I should have a reference for potential replacement if disaster strikes.
Can someone tell me what the MK-4 used as a windshield? Is it a standard Mini front windshield?
I am not sure if the fixed side rear windows (quarter lights) are glass or lexan. I will try to make a template of those as I remove them.

The windscreen is a mini Marcos windscreen. They are available through the club but postage might be a problem. Mike |

That means either I am extremely careful if I remove it to redo the headliner or carefully work around it to get a nice edge at the seal.

It turns out the floor brace for the seats is integrated into the full roll cage as well.

At least that means the seats don't escape out the bottom in an accident. Mike |

It looks like some significant detail changes since I owned the car! The windscreen is or was a replacement that I bought from the club. It was a precarious fit and should have been cut down slightly for a better fit. Tom |

I'm likely to try to work around leaving the windshield in place when redoing the headliner.

Time for a progress update. I have more of the interior done: both door cards and the rear hatch areas are all recovered. I did the sides and rear insert in grey vinyl and the removable side panels in black vinyl. I did the inner ring of the hatch cover in the black vinyl. I also added heal pads to the front floors.
Next will be doing grey felt for the headliner, install the new seats, re-install the side windows and hatch cover.

I now have the headliner fully in place. I just have the A-pillars to cover and the new seats to install.

I have been enjoying the ownership of DH8102, but I must unfortunately put it up for sale.
The driving position aggravates an old shoulder injury whenever I try to do longer drives in the Mini Marcos.
Here is a link to the primary listing of the car: https://www.miniguy.com/vehicles/blue1974marcos/
