I've been contacted by Sandy Fraser aka Alexander Fraser who made the "AF" wooden three-wheelers and, as I discovered, some scaled down buses and trucks which also used Mini components. He would like to contact any other current owners with a view to having a get-together next year.
If you own an AF or know the whereabouts of any please get in touch and I'll give you Sandy's phone number as he's not yet on the net.
If you want to know what an AF looks like see http://www.minimarcos.org.uk/altpics/af/afgp.html and afspyder.html.
I haven't got any pics of the buses, but apparently a couple of AEC Matador (RAF troop carrier) replicas used at Duxford museum had Mini units mounted longitudinally with the drive shafts coupled to front and rear differentials. This gave a very low-geared, Mini-engined AWD vehicle which was used for hauling passenger trailers. |
