Just had a request from Australia - does anyone know what happened to the Wasp Mini Cobra? This was a scaled-down AC Cobra using a Mini power unit that was made in New Zealand.

It's a Berkeley Bandini or Bandera (A-series version). Don't know why it's advertised as an Austin Morris Mini.

More likely noone bothered to tell the DVLA/local authority. You can keep the donor's registration number if you use sufficient parts from it. If you rebuild the car using a completely different shell then that counts as being radically altered, but the situation is different if you keep the origial floor pan and merely change the bodywork sitting on it.
