I have a business trip coming up to Japan, do we have members there who would like to meet up and share marcos and Jem stories? |

Pete If you are in Tokyo a visit to Mini Maruyama is a must. He has an amazing collection of cars including a marcos with a ford engine made up to look like an original Daytona. He also has one of the six original Daytona's which was shipped to Goodwood and the US last year. His collection of mini derivatives and sprints etc is beyond compare. |

Rodger,
This was an excellent recommendation!
I spent more than two hours at Mini Maruyama.
I have many photos and will do a write up for the club magazine.
The ford engined mini marcos is the ex Nick Plankenhorn car with the engine conversion by Bill Quine of Manx racing. Mr Maruyama re-did the body panels and still has the moulds, it has bubble arches like a mk 1 escort.
He has many many more cars that are mini based, such as Ogle SX1000 (chassis no 1) Landar (chassis no 6&7), 3 original mini sprints! 2 mini marcos, Maguire mini etc etc!
He has many very rare engine parts such as Alexander 7 port cylinder heads.
He also has a superb collection of other cars, but I will be a tease and you will have to wait for the article!
Regards
Pete |

His collection blew my mind 10 years ago when I visited before it was common knowledge what he had. Look forward to the article |
