Gordon Curtis writes: “I talked to my uncle Vivian about the car, he was quite supprised to hear it was still
around at all, he told me a little more about it and also gave me some more photos to send you. Pictures 1-5 were by
Eric Drakeford (My Grandad); pictures 5 and 6 were by Vivian Drakeford, the builder of the car.
“During the time my Uncle had the car it saw several engines and gearboxes, subframes were also replaced and rusting around the wheel arches was treated and sealed in. Some aluminium was added in front of the door windows and filled out to help with leaks. The nice alloys were replaced with steels after problems with the alloys. The badge on the front was never fitted and the space filled in. the reg. number was my uncles police badge number (532)! “When Vivian sold the car, he did see it a few years later, now painted white and with a new interior.” Many thanks to Gordon for scanning the prints and giving me a bit of the history. |
