It was constructed in Forfar and Registered in Angus on 23 November 1970, hence the SSR registration number.
I drove it for seven years before going to work in Hong Kong in January 1978. It has been off the road since then.
From 1981 it has been stored on blocks crossways across my garage until it was lowered down with the help of my
brother-in-law Ian Kilcullen on 17 February 2019. The dust was blown of it, the Michelin XAS tyres were blown
up and have held it up since then.
“The car was pushed outside and cleaned with a water jet before being completely stripped down for reconstruction and painting. The both subframes have been repainted and all suspension parts renewed with adjustable trumpets, the braking system replaced and upgraded before needing stripped again for repainting in white. All the car needs now needs is to be painted and reassembled.” |
