Mini Marcos Mk. IV, DH 8131, Owner: David Kessinger (USA)

The TransXL International works car from 1977 features lightweight construction, fully rose jointed, special rear axle, Formula One brakes and removable front. The purpose built 1480 cc engine a special gearbox with limited slip differential, both by John Mowatt. Driven by Steven Roberts, the car gained four British land speed records which it still holds, and has won two modsports championships outright plus three others as class winner. This car is the most successful Marcos ever built, and because of her championship starts to wins ratio is one of the most successful sports racing cars ever built. In 98 races, the car won 36, came second 27 times, third 11 times - 74 podium placings from 98 starts. After 1979, due to her success, the car became an exhibit at the London Science Museum, and then to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu. The car was subsequently raced by Neil Roscoe, and was fully rebuilt in 1999 under the ownership of Richard Line. It has raced at only a few selected events since then. The car has recently been sold and is now owned by David Kessinger in Harrison City, Pennsylvania, USA.
