The bonnet on my Mk II Jem is non-existant as the previous owner started a mod and it didn't get finished.
As I see it, I have three options: 1. Make a new one from scratch [Oh so difficult] 2. Find a really, really neat owner with a spare who wants to sell it to me [preferred] 3. Find a good Samaritan who will release his bonnet (from a resto perhaps?) for a month or so and I will get a buck made which will also benefit Jem owners in the future.
Any takers? |

Thanks Allan, I've already spoken with Mike and he was my "I will get a buck made" guy. Maybe someone with a MkII resto will be able to spare the bonnet for a while for this project. After all it will be returned in immaculate condition if it's to be used as a template |

As long as it doesn't stick to the mould. A small point, the bonnet is the buck, so it is the mould you'll be having made. |

Hi Richard, I've been let down on the bonnet that I was promised. Do you still have either of the two you mentioned? I have emailed my details for contact. Thanks. |

I think the only one I have is fire damaged. It's scortched round the edge and the middle bit is missing altogether. I could lend Mike a bonnet to take a mould off but it's been modified for an upwards facing K&N quadrant type air filter on a single HIF44. It has two NACA ducts either side of the dashpot and an air gap at the front of the bulge. |

I now have a jem though the bonnet is in need of some serious loving (along with the rest of the car). Unfortunately due to work commitments I'm rather busy for a little while but if you give me a prod in spring I should be in a position to sort something out. Mike |

Richard, I would be interested in your fire damaged one if you think that it is repairable, I'm not afraid of a little work if necessary. Maybe you could email me a pic? It's the last bit of the bodywork needed as the rest is ready for paint (just about). Thanks John. |

John You can borrow my Jem bonnet straight after the new year if that helps. OK - I am based in South Yorkshire close to Doncaster / Rotherham , You can pass the bonnet on to Mike so he can make a mould/buck , You can keep the bonnet for two months as i won't be using the car in Jan/Feb, But i must have it back for the first week in March, John this is the best i can do at the moment, I hope it helps you
Regards
Goff |

Thanks for the offer Goff, that's really good of you. If the damaged one is available, I'll go for that but watch this space....... |

Thank you all who responded. Panic now over. Richard has kindly offered me a bonnet so I will set to work after Christmas and finish off the bodywork, ready for paint. |
