What about that massive gap between the front panel and the subframe? On mine (MK3) its not existent and even that tight that the subframe wont drop out without any bolts. That is engine still in place...

I don't think it's as bad as it looks. The upright look to of been cut out along with part of the valence probably to allow it to be flip fronted in the past I suspect once this is reinstated the gap will be minimal.

In the past it was front flip , the next step is to put that part number and serial car front , where air enters to cool the engine

The gap is I think as Mike says, for the flip front brace. As I understand it Cristian wants to have the front end as original as possible. It looks like the fiberglass from the subframe up the connecting points is cut away. Normally there is a thinker lip were the subframes rest against the fiberglass.
A quick fix would be to have a spacer in the gap, otherwise you have to reconstruct the fiberglass.
